Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is also willing to talk with “utterly confused figures” if necessary. The Kremlin made this known shortly before a scheduled telephone call with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about the conflicts over Ukraine.
That was supposed to be Monday, but Johnson had to postpone it due to the political vicissitudes surrounding the ‘party gate’ scandal, the drinks and parties in British government centres during strict lockdowns.
On Tuesday, Johnson accused Putin of “putting a gun to Ukraine’s head” in Kyiv. Western countries claim that Russia is plotting an invasion of Ukraine. Russia denies that.
It accuses Western powers of heightening tensions with false accusations against the Kremlin, arms supplies to Ukraine and plans to expand NATO into former Soviet republics.
