Twitter Shuts Down Hungarian Government Account

Twitter has temporarily shut down the official Hungarian government account. That happened without warning or explanation, says government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs on the same medium.

If you type @AboutHungary, you will see a report from the social media company that Twitter is suspending accounts that violate the Twitter rules.

The spokesman calls the suspension “extremely interesting” given that the European Commission is presenting its first report on the state of the rule of law in EU countries on Wednesday.

The conservative government of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been reprimanded about this several times.

Tech giants seem to be silencing those who have different opinions, “said Kovacs.” We await an official statement from Twitter.
