Tiger Team: Biden Prepares Contingency Plan When Russians Deploy Most Powerful Weapons. The White House set up a secret team late last month, four days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.
That group — codenamed “Tiger Team” — is to prepare a contingency plan in case Russian President Vladimir Putin decides to deploy biological, chemical or nuclear weapons. That reports the New York Times.
The team, led by US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, is also working on plans in case Russia decides to attack a convoy of weapons on NATO territory.
Scenarios in which Putin would also like to occupy Moldova and Georgia would also be considered. In addition, attention is paid to the unprecedented influx of refugees that is currently engulfing Europe.
The team would play a central role in decision-making on troop building in NATO countries, arming the Ukrainian military, and the rollout of sanctions against Russia.
