The number of new corona infections detected in Germany in the last 24 hours has increased significantly compared to the number reported Tuesday morning.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported 17,561 new infections on Wednesday. On Tuesday there were 14,419.
This brings the total number of corona infections in Germany to 833,307 cases.
In the last 24 hours, another 305 people died in Germany from Covid-19. That brings the total death toll in the Federal Republic to 13,119.
