New York Thieves are Targeting One Specific Pair of Headphones

A New York mobile gang is targeting Apple’s new wireless headphones. Last month they captured 21 times by pulling the headphones from walkers.

The AirPods Max came out in December and cost no less than 630 euros. Unlike other AirPods, these are not earplugs but are used as headphones. This makes it easier to steal.

The gang consists of four men on two mopeds. The co-driver rips the headphones off a walker’s head, and they quickly drive off in their vehicle. On January 28, the thieves started stealing. On February 18, the gang even stole ten headphones within an hour. The victims are between 18 and 41 years old.

According to the New York Police Department, the gang is mainly active in the afternoon. All thefts were in the Manhattan borough. The thieves have not yet been arrested. Police have shared photos of two suspects.
