Microsoft WVC is Now Called Azure Virtual Desktop

Microsoft is announcing new capabilities, new app streaming pricing and a name change for the Windows Virtual Desktop service.

It now listens to the name Azure Virtual Desktop.

Microsoft profiles Azure Virtual Desktop as the flexible cloud VDI platform for the hybrid workplace. In the meantime, a public preview is available with several new features that help IT specialists successfully deploy and manage Azure Virtual Desktop deployments.

For example, the new Azure Active Directory (AAD) is a critical service used by organizations worldwide to manage user access to essential apps and data and enforce robust security controls.

The Azure Virtual Desktop virtual machines will soon be able to be added directly to Azure Active Directory. It also allows connection to the virtual machines from any device with basic credentials.
