Facebook Staff Displeased With the Response to Trump Post

Facebook senior employees have expressed their displeasure at Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg’s earlier decision.

He decided not to take action against an inflammatory remark by the US President Donald Trump via the social network.

Trump posted a message on social media saying, “When the looting starts, the shooting starts,” in response to the riots in the US after George Floyd died in Minneapolis. This message was a step too far for Twitter.

That tech company then posted a warning with the message. Facebook didn’t do that. According to Zuckerberg, people need to know if the government plans to use force.

Several high-ranking figures within Facebook think differently. They have expressed their displeasure.

Design director of Facebook news feed Ryan Freitas wants to convince Zuckerberg of his wrong. According to him, dozens of people within Facebook feel the same way.
