The World Health Organization (WHO) wants to accelerate the development and production and thus the use of medicines, tests and vaccines against corona.
Through intensive cooperation, resources in the fight against coronavirus must be made available to everyone worldwide.
WHO CEO Tedros presented the global initiative as a milestone. “Experience has taught us that even when resources are available, they are not available to everyone.”
He wants to prevent that now.
French President Emmanuel Macron, among others, immediately expressed his support. The United States, on the other hand, immediately declined to participate.
President Donald Trump believes that WHO has failed to address the crisis. He suspended US financial aid.
