President Vladimir Putin has said Monday’s Russian missile strikes are in retaliation for a Ukrainian “terrorist attack” on the Crimean Bridge.
He said the Kremlin always has a tough response to terrorist acts against Russia.
For example, the long-range missile strikes targeted Ukraine’s energy and military communications infrastructure.
The bridge, a relatively new Russian road bridge from Russia to the Crimean peninsula, was heavily damaged by an apparent attack on Saturday.
