Ukraine will receive another four armoured howitzers from Germany. The weapons should help the country fend off the Russian invasion.
Delivery will start immediately, the German Defense Ministry announced on Monday. It concerns the armoured howitzer 2000, a heavy artillery gun with a range of up to 40 kilometres.
The German government stressed that Kyiv had asked for more howitzers. “The 2000 armoured howitzers supplied by Germany and the Netherlands have more than proven themselves in combat,” said German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht.
With the four new howitzers, the number Germany delivered to Ukraine rose to fourteen.
