Trump Asks New York Judge to Postpone Ruling on Hush Money Case

President-elect Donald Trump has asked a judge in New York to postpone his ruling in the so-called hush money case. It is now scheduled for next Friday.

Court documents state that Trump’s lawyers still want to appeal the judge’s decision, who has refused to throw out the case.

The case revolves around hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. She says she slept with Trump and was paid to keep quiet about it in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.

Daniels received the money from a lawyer who acted as a problem solver (‘fixer’). Trump was later accused of having tampered with the documents to conceal that he was paying the lawyer back.

A jury found Trump guilty last year before he won the presidential election again. Judge Juan Merchan has yet to announce what sentence Trump will receive after the jury’s decision.

Merchan has already indicated that he does not want to give Trump a prison sentence at sentencing. However, Trump will enter the White House as a convicted criminal afterwards.
