The United States and China have again promised to comply with the agreements from the recently signed trade agreement between the economic superpowers.
In a statement, it was reported that Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping unanimously support the agreement.
Furthermore, Trump said to have confidence in China’s resilience, pointing to the current problems surrounding the new coronavirus.
According to insiders, because of the rapid spread of the virus, Beijing wanted to invoke a clause in the partial agreement on disasters, in order not to have to comply with the agreements fully.
China announced Thursday that it would reduce its import duties on US goods by half.
Xi said he hoped that the US would be somewhat reasonable given the epidemic that paralyses large parts of China.
