The number of people in Germany infected with the new coronavirus is approaching 700. The Robert Koch-Institut, the German counterpart of the RIVM, reported on Saturday that another 45 people had been diagnosed with the lung virus.
To date, there have been 684 cases of infection in the Federal Republic, most of which, more than 375, in the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia bordering the Netherlands.
The German Health Minister advised against unnecessary visits to the densely populated state on Friday.
According to the latest counts, slightly more infections were detected in France on Saturday. The country reports 716 patients and eleven deaths caused by the virus from China.
In Great Britain, the counter on Saturday is 206 infections and two deaths.
With more than 4600 cases of the new virus, Italy remains by far the most affected country in Europe, with a total of more than 7800 cases detected. One hundred eighty-eight infections were counted in the Netherlands.
