South Korean Company in the Dust Because It Portrays Women as Cows

South Korea’s largest dairy company has had to apologize publicly after an embarrassing slip. In an ad campaign, women were portrayed as cows, and that was not appreciated.

“We sincerely apologize to anyone who was uncomfortable with the advertising campaign. We are conducting an internal investigation; we are taking this seriously and will avoid cases like this in the future.”

With that announcement, Seoul Milk, South Korea’s largest manufacturer of dairy products, apologized for a remarkable campaign that was launched at the end of November.

In the commercial, you see men secretly making images of women beating in a field and behaving like cows there. “We finally managed to capture them on camera,” says the voiceover. It was therefore strongly criticized and started a debate about sexism and gender.

The company quickly took the video offline, but people continued to upload it to show what they didn’t think should be done.
