Fidji Simo, who has held senior positions at Facebook for the past ten years, is moving to Instacart. She becomes CEO of the online grocer.
Until recently, Fidji Simo headed the mobile app at Facebook. During her ten-year career there, she helped build the company’s advertising strategy. She now closes the door behind her to head a globally lesser-known company.
Instacart is an online grocer, a small business focusing on delivering food to your door, and it has grown strongly over the past pandemic year. The company will be listed on the stock exchange later this year, and Simo is expected to lead that in the right direction.
She will replace co-founder Apoorva Mehta as CEO of Instacart in early August. The latter becomes chairman of the Board of Directors.
