Google Test recommending Popular dishes in Google Maps. Google Maps may get a new feature that advises popular dishes from a restaurant through the app.
In Google Maps there is a new heading called ‘popular’ under a menu.
The feature is between other menu options such as starter and main course.
Dishes are shown based on reviews from other visitors to the restaurant.
The photos from these reviews are also used to give an idea of the meal.
At the moment there are pictures of dishes added by users in the Dutch version of Google Maps.
The function that is currently being tested also shows the name of the dish and bundles reviews of a dish together.
It is probably a test from Google because the function is only apparent to a limited number of users.
It is not clear when the feature will be executed for all Google Maps users.
