Germany has added Switzerland, Ireland, Poland and most of Austria to the list of risk areas for corona.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the German counterpart of the RIVM, announced this on Thursday.
The RKI calls the situation in Germany around the virus “very serious”.
The country has designated more than 150 regions at risk because more than 50 new corona cases have been identified in seven days.
According to the RKI, it is still possible to get the virus under control.
Germany reported 11,287 new corona cases on Thursday over the past 24 hours. That was another record.
