The number of corona infections in Germany has exceeded 60,000. 61,296 infections have now been registered, the German news agency DPA reports after its own count.
To date, more than 500 people have succumbed to the virus.
One of the hot spots remains the neighbouring state of North Rhine-Westphalia with almost 15,000 recorded cases and 125 deaths.
Experts assume that many infections are not registered.
