In France, a booster vaccination is mandatory to keep a corona ticket. The vaccine will be available to all adults over the age of 18. Health Minister Olivier Véran says the shot can be given five months after the second vaccination. After that, there will be no further strict measures.
Véran said during a press conference that there would be no lockdown or curfew. France had a strict curfew from 6 to 6 a.m. during a previous wave of contamination. However, face masks will be mandatory in more places, and there will be a stricter policy for corona tickets, which will be needed more often.
In order to be able to give the new shots quickly, more vaccination centres will open again. About vaccinating children, Véran said that this will happen in 2022 at the earliest.
“We still have our fate in our own hands,” said the minister. Véran also said he thinks the next wave of the corona, the fifth, will be even heavier than the current spike in infections and hospitalizations. In France, more than 30,000 people have been infected with the virus for two days in a row.
The French health authority HAS, the French RIVM, said earlier that it supported a booster for adults over 18 years old.a
