Former Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi May Leave the Hospital on Monday

Former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy is expected to leave the hospital on Monday. He was hospitalized in Milan more than a week ago after contracting the coronavirus.

According to a spokesman for Berlusconi’s Forza Italia party, he is allowed to leave the hospital around noon.

It is not known whether the 83-year-old politician and media mogul has made a full recovery or if he will receive further treatment at home.

When Berlusconi was admitted, he had mild inflammation of both lungs. According to his personal doctor, the admission was primarily a precautionary measure.

Berlusconi’s health has been fragile for years. He underwent open-heart surgery in 2016 and went under the knife last year for a hernia and intestinal problems.
