WHO Concerned About Sick Migrants Along Belarus Border

The World Health Organization (WHO) is concerned about migrants crossing the border from Belarus to Poland, Latvia and Lithuania.

Many have “ongoing health problems” and require medical and psychological care. They should also be approached in their own language.

The WHO states this in a piece based on research at the Lithuania-Belarus border among migrants who have managed to reach the European Union via this route in recent months but have ended up in a kind of buffer zone.

There is nothing mentioned about corona tests or infections. Three of the five migrants the WHO researchers spoke to have “ongoing health problems that require treatment and medicines”.

The concerns of the WHO are great because winter is coming. The WHO, therefore, aims to support local authorities and medical services to provide adequate assistance.
