WHO: More Clarity About Trump’s Letter Later Today

The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday that it did not immediately comment on a letter from US President Donald Trump, but expected “more clarity” and response later today.

Trump threatened in a letter posted on Twitter on Monday to definitively end funding for WHO if the organization failed to make improvements within thirty days.

Trump would also reconsider his country’s membership of the UN agency, he added.

He thinks the health organization is too much of a puppet of China. He also believes that the WHO has done a poor job in the corona crisis.

“I saw the letter, at the moment I have no response.

We are busy finalizing our agenda for the General Assembly,” said WHO spokeswoman Fadela Chaib in Geneva on Tuesday.
