The Price of Crude Oil Fell Somewhat on Thursday

The price of crude oil fell somewhat on Thursday after statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A barrel of oil (159 litres) of the North Sea type Brent loses 30 cents and still costs 80.78 dollars. The price of a barrel of US WTI oil fell 65 cents to $76.78.

Crude oil rose to its highest price in years on Wednesday, only to cool off a bit after that. That happened after statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin. It showed its willingness to increase gas supplies to Europe.

News of rising oil stocks in the US also weighs down the price.
