Los Angeles Hit by A Light Earthquake. Off the coast of Los Angeles, an earthquake occurred at 12.30 a.m. this afternoon at an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale. The quake was perceptible on land, where buildings were shaking.
The quake took place at about 56 kilometers southeast of Channel Islands Beach; the US Geological Service shares with USGS.
According to the local weather service, there is no tsunami danger.
City News Journal reports that the quake began slowly, as a sort of rolling movement. However, she was not powerful enough to cause objects to fall over.
