Iran has issued a warrant for the arrest of US President Donald Trump and dozens of other US officials.
The Iranian government holds them responsible for the death of General Qassem Soleimani.
The leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s al-Quds unit was killed in an American missile attack in Iraq early this year.
Iranian justice reports that 36 officials from the United States and other countries are being prosecuted for the death of Soleimani. They are suspected of murder and terrorism.
According to the Iranian Attorney General, US President Donald Trump is at the top of the suspect list. Iran plans to prosecute him as soon as his term of office ends.
The other suspects are not named.
Iran enlists the help of the international police service Interpol. The Iranian government has asked Interpol to put the 37 suspects, including Donald Trump, on the global investigation list.
It is unlikely that Interpol will do this because, under the rules of the International Police Office, such requests must not be politically motivated.
