Iraq Veteran Seth Moulton takes a Shot at the American Presidency. A new Democratic candidate for the 2020 US presidential election has emerged. This brings the number to almost 20.

Moulton (40) announced his candidacy in a YouTube video. He starts the race to the White House as an underdog. He is a congressman from Massachusetts without great national fame in the US, or without a long record. He was first elected in 2014.

“Decades of division and corruption have broken our democracy and robbed Americans of their voices,” Moulton said in his video message. “As our country progresses, Washington remains anchored in the past.”

Moulton wants to tackle climate change, he says in the video, and he wants to grow the American economy by focusing on green and high-tech jobs.

Moulton supports the legalisation of marijuana and is also in favour of stricter arms laws. He believes that civilians should not possess military weapons.

From 2001 to 2008, Moulton was a part of The Marines of the US Army. In 2014, when he went into politics, he had a lot of criticism of the war in Iraq, to ​​which he was sent.

Moulton holds a master’s degree in business and public policy from the University of Harvard.
