Twillo Pays Billions for Data Manager Segment

Twillo Pays Billions for Data Manager Segment

Twilio has deposited no less than $ 3.2 billion in shares for the acquisition of a peer.

Twilio was founded in 2008. The company initially focused on quickly adding text and voice to apps. Today it is a broader marketing communication platform around email, chatbots, customer relations and customer identification.

With the acquisition of Segment, it expands into customer data.

Segment allows to move customer data from one app to another using APIs, and also helps with the identification of those customers.

Twilio will pay for the acquisition entirely in shares.

The intention is that the acquisition will be completed by the fourth quarter, and that Segment will subsequently become part of the company.
