Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has asked for security guarantees from the West and Russia.
He wants “immediate concrete guarantees” for the security of Ukraine. Then, Zelensky would like to discuss the content of those guarantees with Putin.
A Russian invasion of Ukraine is becoming increasingly realistic as Moscow has decided to send a “peace mission” to the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. Russia recognizes that region as independent.
“The future of European security is decided in Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
