Turkey has been detached from the list of destinations until the end of August to offer travellers certainty and an opportunity to choose another destination. A spokeswoman confirmed this after earlier reports by trade media Travmagazine and TravelPro.
Because Turkey had been on orange all along, travellers were already reluctant to book. According to the travel organization, TUI’s number of holidaymakers had to disappoint is not that bad. TUI does not give numbers.
Earlier, competitor Corendon decided to offer holidays to Turkey again despite the orange travel advice. According to the tour company, the Turkish coasts would have been yellow for a long time if they had been looked at according to European standards.
